What the fudge did I buy?
Welcome to W.T.F., my second favorite word, next to sprinkles. This is where I will be sharing all the things I literally contemplate on purchasing and all the fails and successes that come along with it. Make-up, fashion, accessories, hair, skin, nails... you name it and it will be here. It's not only about the cake here peeps (although, I am a sucker for all the new gadgets I can possibly find to cake my way to the top!) -haha see what I did there... but this is going to be based on all the cool s*** you see on ads and Instagram, and all the fails and successes of my shopping experiences. (I have a lot of those being as I am tall and curvy all at the same time)
Things will get real, real quick... so stay tuned!

W.T.FUDGE radiant facial glow Do you guys ever get that "WOW" moment when you try or hear about a new product? I have literally had many of those and yes I am overly dramatic but when I find good products I fall madly, deeply, in love with them. I also like trying products that are affordable because I do not want to fall in love with a 250$ serum, because lets be honest, you may splurge and buy it once but I most likely will not go back for another one. Like most, I watch beauty gurus and follow a bunch of celebs on social media and as tempted as I am to buy everything they recommend I have to be cautious as one thing that may work for them may not for me. As most of us scrolling through YouTube, I was minding my own business when I came across Sunkiss Alba. Alba's channel is really great, she strives on being healthy and only putting healthy things in your body from food to water and even household items. Alba created a face oil with DERMA E , a brand not many people are aware of but they are known for natural skin care products ranging from daily face washes to even shampoo. Although I have only tried a few products from them, when I saw Alba talking about her product and the way it applied and the way it looked on her bare skin I was shook. It was a beautiful amber color and had something called RADIANT GLOW, in my world all I saw was gold shimmer but that was what was making her skin just illuminate. Of course, I immediately ordered it.
The DERMA E Radiant Glow Face Oil by SunkissAlba comes in a 2 oz glass container with a dropper head. I really appreciate the bottle and the dropper because oils can be very messy. On their website they claim that this face oil helps soften, illuminate and add nourishing hydration to your skin. ALL TRUE! The Radiant Glow, my favorite thing in this oil gives you a unforgettable dewy glow. It also has Jojoba Oil and replenishing Argan oil to help moisturize the skin and appearance of wrinkles. It also has rejuvenating organic Seabuckthorn oil which helps smooth and add shine. ALL TRUE! Retailing at about $20 and sometimes even on sale at Wholefoods and even ULTA, this oil has transformed my skin. I have recently noticed that I have combination skin and suffered with acne as a teen so I am always carefully when it comes to hydrating my skin. I grew up with the notion that acne was caused by oily skin and I used to never put any oils or moisturizers on my face but that really isn't the case anymore. When my face is dry I feel immediately uncomfortable and need some hydration. Of course I was skeptical at first, I didn't want to break out and was scared this would clog my pores BUT I was SO WRONG. Not only has this made my skin softer and more plump, the Radiant glow (AKA the glitter) on the bottom gave my skin the most amazing natural glow without looking like I had a terrible crafting mishap. I must say you have to vigorously shake the bottle to get the glitter mixed with the oils sitting on top but I think we can all look passed that. I apply it usually only in the morning before my moisturizer so that it absorbs right into my skin before I start lathering on more hydration. I have used it at night as well, usually when my skin feels dry and I want some extra hydration but I feel like it looks best in the mornings on bare skin or even under makeup giving you a natural subtle glow. I swear by this product and love the price point, I am currently on my 6th bottle. If your looking for great skin in this New Year then try this little miracle! Trust me when I say, it is a game changer. W.T.FUDGE DRYING LOTION FOR PIMPLES... Mario badescu itHave you guys ever gotten home from a long day at work, washed your face, looked in the mirror, and saw this planet staring back at you...by planet I mean pimple, and by pimple I mean the one that sticks out and is 3-D and you think FML? Well, if you are one of those many many males and females, look no further as I have found a magic pink solution that even Kylie Jenner uses, the Mario Badescu Drying Lotion.
I have dabbed into the whole Mario Badescu skincare line for over 5 years now, with its most staple product in my vanity being the drying lotion. First and foremost, let me say that this stuff is extremely odd looking at first and if you are anything like, me the first thing you want to do is shake the bottle to mix the pink sediment on the bottom with the clear liquid sitting on top. As tempting as it may be DO NOT, I repeat DO NOT shake this bottle as the whole purpose of this is so the pink remains on the bottom and the remainder clear liquid is on the top. But my first question was "why", "Why can't I shake it?". Well other than the fact that the directions on the bottle literally say DO NOT SHAKE, even if you do, the pink drops back to the bottom and the clear comes to the top, so technically you didn't do anything. So let's move on and be adult-ish. The drying lotion is a fast acting, effective acne spot treatment that is formulated with salicylic acid, calamine, and other quick drying ingredients. As many of you know, salicylic acid is one of acne's biggest enemies because it dissolves skin debris that clogs pores and causes acne. The second major component in this is calamine, which soothes the affected area and acts as a dry protective barrier overnight (pretty sure this is why the bottom half is pink). The top portion, which looks like a clear liquid, is actually isopropyl alchohol. Regardless, I do not know what witchcraft this is but believe me this works and, as a bonus it takes seconds to put on! At $17, this product is a bit more expensive than some other spot treatments, but it lasts 4 times longer than the neutrogena spot treatment! Although it looks very scary to use, it's actually very easy. First of all, remember DO NOT SHAKE THE BOTTLE. Use this before bed after cleansing and toning. Dip a cotton swab directly into the bottle down to the pink sediment and dab directly on the surface of your blemish. Since this is a spot treatment, obviously do not rub it around your face, but if you have multiple break outs you can apply it again with cotton swab to all the areas that are problematic. Also, do not use on broken skin, meaning the ones you have already played with or popped that are already opened up as it will seriously burn (trust me I did this). I have used this on larger red inflamed pimples and woken up the next day without even a trace of that 3-D planet. FYI, sometimes after applying you can experience a burning-tingling sensation and that subsides within a minute or so. Whether you have one breakout a month or several, this product will soon become your best friend and you will be recommending it to everyone. My husband and I literally tell people to " Mario Badescu it" when we see them with a breakout. Big or small, white head or black head, give this drying lotion a shot and let me know how it works for you! W.T.Fudge Peel-off Silver Face MaskRaise your hand if you are a face mask junkie! I am so guilty of this you guys! I love love love face masks... so much so that my family members actually make fun of me because all I want to do is face mask and chill. Recently, the trend of peeling masks has really caught my eye. I did try that black pore-peeling mask that has been trending all over the internet... I DO NOT recommend that! Unless you want to peel your skin off with it, then be my guest. So when I saw the Masque Bar Silver Peel off mask display at Target I was like hmm… to try or not to try? For $2.99, W.T. Fudge, why not. The new line has three different types of masks; gold, silver, and rose gold. Each element comes in two variations, a foil sheet mask and a peel off mask. Let’s be honest, for those people who know me know I would have picked the gold one but the package seemed to have been tampered with and I am not about that life. I settled for the Silver Foil peel mask, which came in what seems like a onetime use pod, which I really liked BTW! I hate buying a full size mask, trying it, hating it, and dumping it in the forgotten bin under my bathroom sink. What a waste, right??
A little deets on the actual product itself… it's actually developed in Korea, and Korean beauty products have been on trend this summer literally everywhere, so this was a plus for me. The silver foil peel off mask says it contains raspberry fruit extract (has Vit-C and can protect your skin from the sun), macadamia emifolia seed oil (which helps restore skins barrier function and reduce water loss), and peppermint leaf extract (which helps heal minor irritations). Surprisingly the company’s website gives no explanation to their products and sticks to instructions on how to use it, therefore I had to do my own research on this... kinda fun and kinda annoying all at the same time. Applying the foil mask is simple; apply a thin layer of the foil peel off mask onto cleansed skin, leave on for 10-15 minutes until mask becomes completely dry, and then proceed to peel off. It so satisfying to peel something off your face… ahh! Overall, I do not have terrible skin (thanks to vitamins) and a good skin care routine, so for me masks help bring additional moisture to my face and give my skin a good cleanse and glow. This product was great! It left my skin feeling moisturized and plump, and to be honest, I felt like some of my pores around my cheeks had disappeared! For the price point and the excitement of peeling this off your face, it was worth it... not to mention, I was impressed with the amount of product in the pod. I am currently on my third use and I have enough for one more mask! W.T.FUDGE $5 FOUNDATION

W.T.Fudge Cake cutter
With so many new gadgets and gizmos, I feel like there are so many options for even the simplest things. Let's talk about what I recently purchased, a cake leveler. I know what you guys are thinking, "Chantelle, why would you get this when you can simply cut a cake in half with a knife?". Well, there is more to leveling a cake than just cutting it in half. If your layers are not equal, then your cake will be wobbly and may even look like the Tower of Pisa... can you say major cake fail! Take a look at my first ever swirl cake with no leveler, ruler, and idea of how to do this above.
Let's get down to the nitty-gritty.
I purchased Mrs. Anderson's Baking Wire Cake Cutter for $4.99 from Bed Bath & Beyond (BTW this is actually a great store to buy all your baking needs in a hurry since they are literally Costco-sized). Just look at the pictures above, doesn't that look so promising. I want to be 100% honest, the price point really sold me on this but what made me push that "add to cart" button was the 6 reviews that raved about how great this product was. Let me tell you, I waited 3 days impatiently for this, and when I ripped open the box I was like "Yasss!"... until I touched the wires. They were pretty flimsy and it really did not seem convincing that it would cut anything. I was very skeptical yet stayed optimistic. I really wanted this to work. Mind you, this arrived just before Mother's Day and I was making my infamous carrot cake, and when I prepared to cut through it, my husband, Chant (he is actually a chef and I should listen to him more but I am too stubborn...oh and yes we have the same name, kinda sorta) advised me that this will not cut through my carrot cake since I added raisins and nuts. Of course, I didn't listen. So, there I was trying to run the dull a** wires through my thick carrot cake and well, he was right! I quickly ditched the tool and went in with a serrated knife and ya... that worked.
I did not want to give up, although I had a hunch that this was probably not going to work at all. I am a believer in second chances, so I baked my signature vanilla cake (figured a cake with a softer texture might be easier to cut through). I started to cut through the cake with the cutter and it did not even leave an indent in the spot where I was attempting to push it through. I was frustrated to say the least.
What the fudge did I buy?! I have all these insanely sharp knifes yet I went out and ordered a cake cutter that literally can't cut though a marshmallow!
Final thoughts? I will not be using this tool again as it caused more anger than help. If your thinking of getting one of these, I suggest investing in a serrated knife as well as a ruler instead to measure and help level your cakes that way!
